Desk Report:
Shakib Al Hasan has been banned from bowling in England. The Bangladeshi all-rounder will not be able to bowl in any competition of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The ECB confirmed the decision in a press release today after evaluating his bowling action.
Shakib went to England last September to play a match for Surrey in the County Championship. He also bowled very well for Somerset in the match. But the umpires reported his suspicious bowling action. It was then learned that Shakib will have to take a bowling test. Shakib took his bowling test at Loughborough University earlier this month. Where it was seen that he exceeded the maximum elbow extension limit of 15 degrees in the bowling action.
Shakib’s ban will be effective from December 10 this year, the day he took the evaluation test. However, he will be able to take the test again after that. The Bangladeshi star will not be able to take part in any ECB competition until he passes the re-evaluation test.
